Activities 2017

Here are some activities organized and involved by our researchers in year 2017

1. EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY TEA GATHERING 2017

Tea gathering for educational technology was held on 26 September 2017 at Faculty of Education, C14 411. This program was implemented to gather all the new postgraduates students with the lecturers and seniors. Besides, academic sharing regarding the courses was also conducted to assist the postgraduate students with the environment and learning style at the faculty of education.

 

2. RESEARCH VISIT TO KING MONGKUT’S INSTITUTE TECHNOLOGY OF LADKRABANG (KMITL)

Two Ph.D. students, Ana Haziqah A Rashid and Kew Si Na, from Faculty of Education had undergone research attachment at King Mongkut’s Institute of Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Bangkok, Thailand from 15 August until 13 September 2017. Both of them had involved in various academic activities organized by the KMITL, including learning basic Thailand language, attending postgraduate classes, and attending talks related to research and publications shared by different experts and lecturers. Besides that, they also joined several trips to visit some famous places such as Wangklaikangwon Industrial and Community Education College (WICEC), King’s farm in Hua Hin, Thailand grand palace and temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat PhraKaeo) as well as Pattaya floating market. Moreover, they were also assigned a knowledgeable Thailand advisor to conduct a research in Thailand. This fruitful visit had made them to exchange research knowledge and culture as well as to enrich their learning journey.

 

3. KARNIVAL STEM & PIBK, SMK SERI INTAN KLUANG

>STEM Carnival was held at SMK Seri Intan, Kluang on 10th April 2017 (Sunday). The carnival aims to provide exposure to students and the general public about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The carnival was officiated by Yang Berhormat Hj Md Jais bin Hj Sarday, Housing and Local Government Exco, and Kluang UMNO division chief. Lecturers and students of RG CITE were given the opportunity to exhibit STEM products and activities on that day.

 

4. KELAB SUKA BELAJAR, KG MELAYU MAJIDEE JOHOR

Kelab Suka Belajar-University of Malaysia (UTM) is a catalyst to foster a solid foundation for children to learn, as well as to build on the ability to continue lifelong learning. UTM’s Academic and Student Development Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Dr Azlina Mohd Kosnin, said such initiatives aimed at empowering thinking skills, promoting knowledge sharing, as well as parental and community engagement which were seen to be crucial in determining the child continues to be an asset to the country. Besides being able to promote learning interest starting at school level, it indirectly contributes to student’s emotional impact in the context of UTM-New Academia Learning Innovation.

 

5. STEM DAY AT FESTIVAL LEARNING ISKANDAR

STEM Day 2017 is a collaborative program between Iskandar Regional Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA),Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and Johor State Education Department (JPNJ) in conjunction with the Iskandar Learning Festival 2017. STEM Day 2017 aims to expose STEM to people for free in many aspects, including teaching and learning at school, in everyday life, higher education and career as well as providing a useful entertainment platform with interactive activities and engaging games that incorporate STEM knowledge elements.

 

 

6. 4th INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION SHOWCASE, UTM JOHOR BAHRU

The UTM 4.0 4th Industrial Revolution Showcase was held on the 8th to 10th of August in UTM Johor Bahru. The showcase expose what digital and cyber physical systems technologies are, how a University and Classroom of the Future would be and people can see what are the digital products and services within a Fourth Industrial Revolution. Besides, this showcase was also an opportunity to educate and share to more people regarding the technologies used nowadays.
