Background

The development of education at national and international level has sparked the idea to educators and academia to find solutions to educational issues and problems in the 21st century. Based on educational development index (EDI), countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia are in the category of mid-level EDI countries, while other countries such as Singapore and Brunei Darussalam are at higher stage. In other words, the quality of education remains a problem in the countries at the middle level. Therefore, this conference is an effort to expand educational access and sustainability in terms of geography and economic development, improve the quality and relevance of education, and strengthen governance and accountability of education services to accelerate the achievement of universal primary education by 2015.

“1st International Conference on Educational Studies (ICES, 2015)” is an attempt to examine the impact of culture, by applying the findings of research results within and outside the country, study the teaching and learning process to ensure quality education. It is also in line with the efforts to strengthen the quality of education in order to face globalization towards the development of human capital and territorial integrity of the nation.

All submitted conference papers will be blind peer reviewed. About 80% full papers will be published in SCOPUS Index Journal and rest 20% will be published in book.

Conference Objectives

ASIALICS aim to explore and develop the concept of learning. Innovation and competence building as an analytical framework. The objective of ASIALICS is to stimulate the establishment of knowledge based strategies or economic development in Asia. The idea is to bring together interesting issues about what is going on in Asian countries and companies and to share experiences regarding methodology, analytical results and policies.

Paper Submission, Review, and Acceptance

Significant and original (unpublished) submissions are solicited. The papers will be peer reviewed and upon acceptance, authors are requested to submit their final version (if requested). Papers should not exceed 8,000 words and should include an abstract of 100-150 words. For the paper submission guidelines, please see the conference website. The accepted papers will be opened at the conference website (www.asialics.lipi.go.id). Selected papers will be published in Asian Journal of Technology Innovation and other related journals after a peer review process.

Professor Hamido Fujita Editor-in-Chief of Knowledge-Based Systems, Elsevier is UTM Distinguish Visiting Professor

We are glad to receive Professor Hamido Fujita as our Distinguish Visiting Professor at K-economy Research Alliance and Faculty of Computing UTM from August – Sept, 2014. He is the editor-in-chief of Elsevier Knowledge Based Systems Journal (Q1 ISI Journal) with Impact Factor: 3.058.

Professor Hamido Fujita;

He is professor at Iwate Prefectural University (IPU), Iwate, Japan, as a director of Intelligent Software Systems. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Knowledge-Based Systems, Elsevier of impact factor (3.058) for 2013 (Journal Citations Report (JCR) released by Thomson Reuters on July 28th 2014). This has made his journal in Rank 15 among 122 SCI Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence top Journals.

He received Doctor Honoris Causa from O’buda University in 2013, and a title of Honorary Professor from O’buda University, Budapest, Hungary in 2011. He received Distinguished Honorary scholar from University of Technology Sydney, Australia on 2012. On March 2013, he received distinguished visiting professor position from National Taiwan Ocean University, Taiwan for two years. He received Honorary Professor from the University of Xi’an of Post & Telecommunications, China.  He is Adjunct professor to Stockholm University, Sweden, University of Technology Sydney, National Taiwan Ocean University and others. He has supervised PhD students jointly with University of Laval, Quebec, Canada; University of Technology, Sydney, Australia; Oregon State University (Corvallis), University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France and University of Genoa, Italy, VU university Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has four registered international Patents in Software System and Several research projects with Japanese industry and partners. He is vice president of International Society of Applied Intelligence.  He has given many keynotes in many prestigious international conferences on intelligent system and subjective intelligence.
